The pain and swelling is at the very tip of my middle toe, the second one over from the big toe. Usually, my gout starts in the joint of the big toe, though I did have it in this same middle-toe before (in the joint however)..I really thought I had stubbed my toe on something, but after a couple of days, I knew it was gout
