Pain (and swelling?) in ball of foot just at base of toes

For a few days now ive had a strange feeling at the base of my 2-4th toes in my ball of foot (but mainly just below my 3rd toe i think). It feels swollen, or like there’s a lump there. In the morning when i first get up, its quite painful and i have to walk with my toes curled up, but by evening its not painful, the lump/swelling just feels like there’s something in my shoe which im walking on
