Pain outer top edge of foot on uneven surfaces.

Hi I am seeing a podiatrist about pain I have had for several months on the top outer edge of the side of my foot and I wanted some more ideas and thoughts, because the situation is still growing worse. The pain along the outer top side of my foot occurs when I place weight on the outer edge (basically parallel with last two toes) on my foot
