Hi All Persistent plantar heel pain can be attributed to periostitis, calcaneal bone edema or pain generated within plantar fibro-fatty pad and this may be associated to the mechanical properties of that individuals plantar fibro-fatty pad. If the plantar fibro-fatty pad is too stiff it may not disperse forces evenly with resulting increase localized pressures at sites such as the medial process of calcaneal tuberosity.
