I had a patient this week for nail surgery who had been severely traumatized by a previous experience with a general surgeon who had done a TNA (without phenolisation) on the same nail two years ago and she had severe post surgical pain, to such an extent that now with me she pleaded with me AFTER I had finished the procedure to please administer more local anesthetic so that it would stay numb for longer….
