Ingrown toenail surgery question

I Live in Cork city,Ireland,im 16 I Got ingrown toenail surgery yesterday,the partial piece of the nail was removed.But the surgeon did not kill the Matrix. I am SEVERLY Worried that it could reoccur,is there anyway i can prevent this from happening,thanks šŸ™
