Multiple, variable sized fractures in the midfoot

Hi, Just wanted to ask if an open surgery is required in this case: A healthy 58 year old male sustained fractures in the left foot/ankle following a fall from a ladder. He reports of an inversion injury while landing on the ground with his left foot and dropping a heavy tool on the navicular region at the same time. He has been in a short-leg cast for ~6 weeks for the ankle fracture which had all healed up well
