Plavix and Effient Pre-op

I have two patients scheduled for 2nd toe arthrodesis surgery. One is taking Plavix (Clopidogrel), and the other is taking Effient (Prasugrel). Naturally, I ask the patient’s prescribing physician if they would permit the patient to discontinue these meds at least 5 days pre-op
