Title ‘Dr’ UK

Hi all I know this has been done to death but I’m slightly interested as its now 2016. In the UK a number of HCP (dentists, vets and chiro) are adopting the title ‘Dr’ and without going into the PhD issue as outside that qualification it appears the use of ‘Dr’ is purely of ones own choice as there appears to be no regulation of the title. University of Northampton staff and students help runners in London Marathon

Press Release: The University of Northampton shows its support for this year?s Virgin Money London Marathon Thursday 21 April 2016 Quote: Our Podiatry staff and students are excited to once again be supporting the runners of the Virgin Money London Marathon, which takes place this Sunday 24 April. The University of Northampton academic team are taking 20 final year BSc Podiatry students to work alongside medics, as part of a multi-disciplinary team which will provide support to runners after they cross the finish line. Hi everyone, this is my first post on here, I’m a ‘soon to qualify’ uk podiatry student, hoping to be registered by late summer. podiatry admission tutors plea to keep jobs

This months podiatry now magazine contains a most interesting article about podiatry admissions to university. It basically states there are not enough applicants for available places many places go through clearance, they will accept less bright students to fill places , ie bums on seats, and that these students are more likely to drop out thus lowering the universities rank in the league tables and eventually the unis will drop podiatry as an option.
