Heads up for a great little article in the FREE Diabetic Foot Journal; http://www.diabeticfootjournal.co.uk…-diabetic-foot Taster; Quote: The feet of people with diabetes can be affected by neuropathy, peripheral arterial disease, foot deformity, infections, ulcers and gangrene which if left untreated can be a major factor for lower limb amputation. NICE (1) recommends that foot care should be considered an important part of self-care in people with diabetes. Emollient therapy should form part of this self-care to help: • Improve skin integrity and quality • Act as a preventative measure to help detect diabetic foot lesions early by encouraging daily inspection of the feet.
