For the last 5-10 years I have suffered with inflammation of the soft tissues in my feet which has made walking very painful. It seems to ‘move’ over a period of a few days and most often is to be found at the top of the heel, at either edge of the base of the foot (both instep and other side) or, as at the moment, just on the heel side of the first big toe joint where it meets the bottom of the foot, on the side. (If you feel for the point of the joint where the big toe bone meets the instep at the side of the foot, and go back towards the heel by about 10mm you get to the ‘sweet spot’ where it’s most painful).
