Accessory Ossicle of Fibula and foot pain

I injured my left ankle/foot approx 10 months ago. For months I had recurrent “snapping” of the ankle when I would stand which would cause severe sharp pain to the lateral aspect of my foot. Initially this happened randomly and I saw a podiatrist who diagnosed me with an accessory ossicle that he felt was intermittently slipping into the joint space
