Recurrent stress fracture of 4th met shaft

Hi all,Does anyone know if there are any specific ways of reducing bone stress of the 4th metatarsal shaft? Patient details:21 year old amateur aussie rules football player. MRI shows acute stress fracture of 4th metatarsal shaft, in same spot the patient had a stress fracture about 10 months..
