As many will know, I have argued that there is no such thing as a “placebo”, nor “sham” foot orthoses for severel years now, since you cannot introduce anything at the foot-orthosis interface that will not impact on the mechanics at the foot-orthosis interface (since foot orthoses work by modifying the mechanics at the foot-orthosis interface, you cannot make a “sham” foot orthosis. It seems that the research is supporting my opinion now.
